The Howth Aquathon Series consists of two different distance combined swimming and running races to be held on three summer evenings in Howth

2013 Howth Aquathon Dates

Monday 20th May at 19.30

Monday 17th June at 19.30

Monday 1st July at 19.30

Races on offer are:

LONG RACE @ 19.30 Hrs :- 1000m swim - 5.5 km Run

SHORT RACE @ ~20.00 Hrs:- 500m Swim - 2.8 km Run

Same cost to enter each race and you can swap on the night with no drama or cost

* Short Race will start once all long race participants have cleared the water section and all safety cover is in place

For each race the distance from the end of the swim / exit from the beach to the grassy transition area is ~100m

This route will be covered by matting suitable to run in bare feet

Cost to enter one Race is €15 until 1 month before race

i.e. 20/04/13 for race on 20th May; 17/05/13 for race on 17th June; 01/06/13 for race on 1st July;

Then entry cost is €20 until noon on day before each race - €25 for on the night entry

Cost to enter all 3 races:- €35 until 28/02/13; €39 until 30/04/13; €49 until 15/05/13

Entry for all 3 Races includes Howth Challenge Series Tee-shirt - Individual Race entry does not

There is no difference in cost to enter Short Race or Long Race

This entry cost is inclusive of on-line entry provider’s commission, vat, timing chips and light post race refreshments

Entry on the night is possible before 7pm but we would prefer if you enter on-line in advance

Categories for prizes are:- The first 3 men and women in the open category and the top vet (O 40 on day of race)

In addition to these prizes there will be spot prizes available for all participants present at the prizegiving which will take place immediately after Long Race finishes each night

In 2012 these prizes included running, biking and swimming gear from The Bike Hub, Healthpro vouchers and vouchers for various Howth restaurants ( Beshoff's, Ivan's Oyster Bar and Grill, Deerpark Hotel, Etc) each night

2013 prize details will be available in due course

The overall 2013 Series winners, based on all 3 events, both men & women for both long and short races will recieve a personally hand-crafted momento from Crannmor Pottery
